Installation
pip install "typesafe-sdk[zstd]==0.7.5"Release context
This page is organized from the official release record for TypeSafe Python SDK 0.7.5. Image and Box support remains experimental, so production integrations should follow the current documentation rather than treating this historical summary as a permanent API contract.
What changed
- The documentation is reorganized into Basic and Advanced sections; this is a documentation change, not a separate runtime feature.
- Experimental image input accepts bytes, file paths, base64 data, and PIL images.
- The SDK adds Box questions and answers plus attach_assets to attach assets to text so questions can reference them.
- Request bodies of 1 KiB or more use zstd compression by default when zstd support is available.
Installation
pip install "typesafe-sdk[zstd]==0.7.5"
uv add "typesafe-sdk[zstd]==0.7.5"Compatibility checks
- Image and Box interfaces remain experimental; follow the current TypeSafe documentation and regression-test representative requests before production use.
- The package requires Python 3.10 or newer.
- Python 3.13 and earlier require the zstd extra; Python 3.14 can use zstd support from the standard library.
- zstd request compression is enabled by default, while non-official APIs may lag in compression support; verify compatibility before routing through another implementation.
- PIL objects require the optional pil extra only when Pillow object input is used; it is not part of the default zstd installation command shown here.
- Pin 0.7.5 only when reproducing this release, and review newer SDK documentation before upgrading or relying on version-specific behavior.
Scope and limitations
This release record does not promise a performance improvement. Compression depends on payload size, installed or standard-library zstd support, and server compatibility; experimental image and Box contracts can change, and the documentation split does not itself add runtime capability.
